UTILIZING TIKTOK APPPLICATION TO IMPROVE STUDENT’S VOCABULARY AND SPEAKING FLUENCY IN ENGLISH FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL (MTS NURUL IMAN NW PAGUTAN)

Abstract

Background of the Study English plays a pivotal role in global communication and has become increasingly important in various domains such as education, business, and technology. In this research, the writer used qualitative methode. Because this method is appropriate for investigating subjective interpretations and the meanings students attach to their engagement with digital learning platforms. The data collection in this research is In-depth Interviews, Participant Observations, and Documentation. Data Analysis in this research is sdta Reduction, Data Display, and Conclusion Drawing and Verification. From the anticipated data and theoretical frameworks, it is reasonable to conclude that TikTok can be a powerful educational resource in the EFL context. Its unique characteristics—short-form content, user engagement, and multimodal learning—provide a fertile ground for enhancing language learning. Specifically: Vocabulary is acquired in meaningful and memorable ways, which enhances long-term retention. Speaking skills improve through informal, repeated exposure to authentic English.Students experience a shift in mindset, from passive learners to engaged language users who see English as a tool for communication rather than merely a school subject.
